Backscattering variability in subswaths


does the Snap Toolbox offer ways to adjust varying backscatter in different subswaths (see the attached image taken from a quicklook of S1A_IW_SLC__1SDV_20160426T090824_20160426T090852_010990_01082A_89AF)?

While I have read some discussion regarding striping in low backscatter regions, suggestions w.r.t. thermal noise removal and calibration, I am still not able to sufficiently get rid of such effects.

I still get some difference between subswath 2 and 3 but it’s a little bit less noticeable than in yours.
I first removed thermal noise, then calibrate, then deburst.

Thank you for your reply. This is also the way I’m processing the data right now, yet I was hoping that there might be a way to further optimize the result.

Do you know some more details about these effects? Are there efforts to further calibrate the sensor or develop processing steps to suppress them?
