Black area in subseted area

Hi All,

When doing a fairly standard calibration to sigma0, using the following process in a graph:
Read
Apply Orbit File
Calibration
Terrain Correction
Subset
Write
I get a large black area in the resultant product.
This does not happen with every input product. It seems to be limited to those where my area of interest is close to the border of the acquisition - see screen shot attached.

The red box is my area of interest, and the white line to the left is the boundary of the product.

Am I missing something simple?

Thanks,

Philip

does this black area contain valid pixels before the subset?

Hi ABraun,

Before any processing:

20180201_Amplitude_VH_cropped.tif (623.0 KB)

My AOI overlaps the black area on the right despite first appearances.

Regards,

Philip

Have you considered applying S1 Border Noise Removal?

grafik

I’ll try that.

Where in the processing chain would you suggest I put it?

Thanks,

Philip

The image you shared before processing shows the same black area. This means that it is the edge of the data that was acquired on that date. There is no method to add data where it was not acquired. The S1 Border Noise Removal can remove the extra “almost black” pixels to make a nicer image, but it won’t add more data.

I was afraid of that.

Unfortunately I have the same situation with several of my other AOIs. It only affects certain orbits though so I should be able to work around it.

Thanks for your input.
