I try to apply Linear to dB conversion on a .tiff Sentinel-1 image extracted from IDL and it appears an error. I used both graph builder and menu way (raster -> data conversion -> linear to db) but it doesn’t work…
A workaround would be using Band Maths (Raster -> Band Maths) and manually applying the formula behind the conversion:
10*log10(intensity value)

It probably does not work because the necessary metadata is not present. Why don’t you convert to dB before using IDL?
