How to open SIR-C image files

I don’t know how to open SIR-C images in SNAP.
I downloaded SIR-C image file from earth explorer.
https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/

I got " PR15900.tar " file.
I opened this file and got “pr15900_img_ceos” , “pr15900_ldr_ceos” , and “pr15900_tlr_ceos” files. But I can’t open these files in SNAP.

Do you know how to open SIR-C image files or what software tools can open SIR-C images?

thanks

I tried this once as well and they cannot be opened with SNAP properly.

You can use PolSARpro to open them.

Thank you for your reply!
I tried PolSARpro to open SIR-C files.

I could get only C2 matrix. But I want HH and HV single-pol images.
PolSARpro can generate HH and HV image?
And what tools can geocode these images?

Are you able to extract the S matrix if you select “Full Resolution“?

Geocoding can be done by SNAP (called within PolSARpro) in the Utilities menu.

I couldn’t select S matrix. I can select only C2 matrix.

And I tried geocoding.(Utilities >> SNAP >> geocode [C2] matrix)
But there is not SIR-C polarimetric SAR sensor.

Can someone answer this question?
Your comments are welcome.

You’re right, SIR-C is not supported by the SNAP geocoding.

The reason why S matrix cannot be extracted is because your product is already MLC.

I was also searching for a software which allows to use these data a longer time ago but only found this: PHOTOMOD Radar Viewer. It is able to correctly open SIR-C data and if I recall correctly, there is a way to output it to a GeoTIFF.

Now when I am testing it again, the software seems to cease responding.

I tried PHOTOMOD Viewer but when importing LEADER file, this software stopped.
Anyway, thank you for telling me!

same here, sorry to hear that. Hard to belive that there is no longer a way to properly use SIR-C images. They are quite unique and still of high value.
