Operating System Support for SNAP 6.0 and 5.0

Wondering what are the requirements for Mac OS X operation system for running the latest versions of SNAP, I have 10.9.5 and downloaded SNAP 5.0 and it says it cannot open cause my Mac OS X version is too old.

Hi,

I used macOS Sierra (v 10.12.5) and SNAP 5.0 properly. SNAP 6.0 - once it will be available (you can try the beta version by the moment) should not give you any problem.

Actually SNAP has no specific requirements on the OS. It only needs a Java 8 JRE, but this is bundled with the installer.
maybe it is the installer itself which fails on your Mac, but actually, it requires at only OS X 10.7.3 or later, as far as I know.
Can you show a screenshot of the message?
