Shoreline Detection via SAR

Hi All,

For shoreline detection, I know someone posted a question before, but it did not get answered. For the shoreline detection or change in shoreline detection, does anyone know the required steps. I see on the Canada Remote Sensing Website, they mentioned to look at the backscatter, but would you get better results looking at coherence and using a S1C.

Thanks,

Shaffiq

Would this be almost the inverse to: UN-SPIDER Flood Mapping

This generates a visualisation of water ‘detected’ in SAR imagery, I’d imagine a very quick and dirty shoreline/land detection would involve doing the opposite of what Step 3 does.

Sorry if its a bit too primitive but it’s a start! I’m sure you could generate .shp files from the outline of the detected land.

Thank your for your response since its greatly appreciated. Since I am doing it for work, I am already using that method, but trying to create a better workflow that would improve on the results.

Thanks,

Shaffiq
