Server error during installation

Hello,
I am using the latest update of s1tbx toolbox for TerraSAR-X spotlight interferometry. I have loaded the toolbox successfully a couple of times, but lately I see the error that the toolbox cannot connect to the nexus repository (https://snap-build-server.tilaa.cloud/nexus/repository/snap-maven-public/javax/media/jai/jai-core-openjdk/1.1.4/jai-core-openjdk-1.1.4.pom 503).

I am using Ubuntu 20.04 and my java version is

openjdk version "1.8.0_292"

My maven version is

I hope this information helps.

I am unsure if the error is caused because I am missing something or maybe because of the server issue.

Could any of you please clarify?

yesterday there we had some server issues, and some still remain.
Also the forum had an outtake yesterday. You might have noticed it.
The repository should be available again in the course of the day.

I was having the exact same error yesterday when building SNAP from sources on one of our new computer… I thought the error was on my side.

Hello,
Unfortunately, snap-build-server is still affected by a disk failure issued on the cloud provider infrastructure.
We will keep you updated here when things will get back on track.

I still face an issue during the mvn clean install

I think this indicates that you are using a JDK version >= 9.
Some parts of the code still need a JDK 8.

@marpet If I may suggest, the sentence “Versions greater than 8 haven’t been tested yet.” should be replaced according to your comment → “Some parts of the code still need a JDK 8.” to ensure the user does not “try” to use the default jdk version installed on its machine (currently jdk 11).

It could be that there is/was a server issue. I just executed the test and it worked.
I’m not a fan of such server tests in unit level tests, because it can happen that the test fails eventhough the code is correct, just because the server is not beahving well.

If you still cannot build s1tbx you can skip the tests:
Just call

mvn clean install -DskipTests

Or annotate just this test class with @Ignore

Thank you very much for your detailed instructions. Everything is working now.

I am also quite disturbed by these tests. Sometimes, I launch twice the same command, but the success or failure can occur or not.

Anyway, s2tbx and s3tbx worked out without any troubles.
