which water Index is appropriate to distinguish rivers and lakes in a sentinel-2 satellite image?
Do you want to distinguish rivers from lakes or just rivers and lakes from land?

In the index-database are several listed for detecting water.
IDB - Search results for »water« (indexdatabase.de)
Also a simple check like B8 > 0 && B8 < 0.115 works quite well.
