What is "GRD-Post" for?

In Beta 8 (built from github source), I found a “GRD-Post” step in the graph builder under menu item “Radar -> Sentinel-1 TOPS” (just above “Remove-GRD-Border-Noise”). There is no such menu item under the main Radar menu. What does this step do?

This operator is used in the TOPS SLC to GRD graph. It applies some post
processing to clean up metadata, renaming the product to GRD, etc.
We didn’t want to apply this clean up within the individual operators of
the graph because it only makes sense in the context of the whole graph.
Therefore, it should only be used when going from SLC to GRD.
