List Of Band Combinations For Sentinel 2

Hi,

Is there a list of band combinations for Sentinel 2 available?

I am looking for something similar to the list below of Landsat 8 band combinations.

I have looked in the user guide and tutorial and can’t see any list.

Natural Color 4 3 2
False Color (urban) 7 6 4
Color Infrared (vegetation) 5 4 3

I will provide you spectral wavelength. The interpretation of band combination is yours to define regarding the application. You can follow the Landsat 8 band if the wavelength is the corresponding one.

When you open an RGB composite from a S2 product, you are proposed with two choices : natural colors (4-3-2) and false color infrared (8-4-3). We may add more combinations to match some L8 combinations when this makes sense.

Band combinations for Sentinel-2. They can be found in SNAP menu, the RGB composite is as follows:

Natural Colors: 4 3 2
False color Infrared: 8 4 3
False color Urban: 12 11 4
Agriculture: 11 8 2
Atmospheric penetration: 12 11 8a
Healthy vegetation: 8 11 2
Land/Water: 8 11 4
Natural Colors with Atmospheric Removal: 12 8 3
Shortwave Infrared: 12 8 4
Vegetation Analysis: 11 8 4

Hello @Suprd ,

The link you provided to the {PSD} is to a previous version. The curent release is 14.2. There are some minor amendments in the increment:

  • Table 4-9 has been updated for new management of Complete Single Tile inside Query_options tag.
  • All references to the land/water mask have been removed

The PSD can be found in the Document Library at https://sentinel.esa.int/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-2-msi/document-library
