I’m pretty new to the sentinel1 datasets.
I downloaded s1A_IW_GRDH datasets to obtain the backscatter coefficient.
I knew that i can calculate sigma at the radiometric calibration
But im still curious about what kind of calibration need to be applied.
Thermal noise removal/ Speckle filtering/ Ellipsoid correction/ Range-Doppler terrain correction?
Additionally, can i open file which finished calibration procedures at matlab? I had difficulty in making mesh grid in matlab… because only limited lat and long is provided and it is not rectangular form

maybe this helps you:
Radiometric correction
for SLC data I would suggest
Thermal noise removal
Calibration to Beta0
TOPSAR Deburst
Apply Orbit file
(Speckle filtering)
Radiometric terrain flattening
Range Doppler Terrain Correction
If you don't need the phase information you can also download it as a GRD product and only apply the following:
Thermal noise removal
Apply Orbit file
Calibration to Beta0
(Speckle filtering)
Radiometric terrain flattening
Range Doppler Terrain Correction
or (if you don't have much topography):
The…
Export
If you want to plot the phase data in matlab, export the phase raster to GeoTiff.
