which sentinel is the best for extracting elevation data (topography) and high resolution??

DEM generation with Sentinel-1 - Workflow and challenges

To get DEMs of sufficient quality, the following conditions should be fulfilled:

  • litte temporal decorrelation (caused by vegetation)
  • no atmospheric noise (images from dry periods)
  • suitable perpendicular baselines (150-300 meters)
  • looking direction (ascending or descending) of the sensor allows to measure the topographic changes to a suitable dregree.

thanks a lot
I have been searching a lot about high resolution dem around 10 meter or lesser
and how to create it because sentinel have different polarization and rules so make me confused
I will be glad to use your knowledge for doing article

If there was a good way to retrieve reliable DEMs from Sentinel-1 data, people would have already exploited it in numerous cases for the past years. This means, in my opinion, it does not work most of the time. You get best results with VV polarization in arid regions and suitable baselines, but mostly temporal decorrelation will cause bad phase quality leading to unusable data.

No not expect great results…atmospheric artefacts kill the accuracy if just one pair is used.
