Adding Alpha Bands to Remove Black Borders - Transparency - Sentinel-2 8-bits-Setting NoData

Hi all,

I aim to add a Alpha Band to Remove Black Borders in a Sentinel-2 image.

I obtained the MASTER file of a Sentinel-2 image from Creodias, and in SNAP after the subset, resample and reprojection I exported it to Geotiff.

  1. First I would like to know which data conversion option should I use to define the tiff in 8-bits: int8 or uint8?
  2. How should I set the nodata option? to 0.0?
  3. And mainly, I would also like to know, in SNAP or other software, how I can add/define adding Alpha Band in the Geotiff file to get transparency and consequently remove Black Borders.
