Why exactly is there a need for orbit filtering? I tried reading the HELP file but did not understand.
Please read carefully - it says “Apply Orbit File” No filtering is involved in this process.
Orbit files store information on the position and state of a sensor at the time of image acquisition. They are not included automatically because they have to be generated first. Therefore they are available a coulple of days after the image was taken. If you need exact information on the geolocation of your images, for example for co-registration of multiple images or interferometric analyses, you should apply those orbit files to the image before you procsss them. The tool automatically searches them online and writes a new product with extendet metadata.
