Error while installing Snap version 11

image
Please advise.

Dear @shghah

Is this the first time you are installing SNAP on your computer? If not, could you check whether SNAP Command-Line.lnk file already exists in folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ESA SNAP\ ?

yes Yes, there was, I deleted the previous version and installed the new version. As recommended by the directory software, I did not delete the previous version, and I am getting this error again when executing the commands.

The problem is that it is not possible to write to the: “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ESA SNAP” directory.

My SNAP directory is protected and this cannot be changed for some reason, even if the UAC is set to the lowest level (i.e. not recommended). I am an administrator on the computer so I’m a bit confused.

My next attempt will involve removing SNAP 10.0 and deleting all references to this program in the Windows registry. Then installing 11.0. I’ll let you know if this works…

EDIT: It worked! I should note that I chose to not have a desktop link this time
