Dear forum
I decided to upgrade my SNAP version from 4.0 to 5.0.
I’m a Lubuntu user, version 16.04, 64 bit.
Do I have to uninstall the old version before installing the new one using esa-snap_sentinel_unix_5_0?
If yes, how to do this ?
Thank you

It is not necessary but I would recommend it. There is an uninstaller inside the bin folder of the SNAP installation directory.
Thank you very much Marpet. I was in a hurry and I installed the new 5.0 without uninstalling the 4.0. Anyway the installer asked me whether to clear the previous installation and i did it. It seems that everything went fine except for some error messages.
I solved in this way: I changed the permissions to the
/"mypath"/.snap/system/config/Preferences/org/netbeans/modules/autoupdate/snap_extensions_update_center.properties
/"mypath"/.snap/system/config/Preferences/org/netbeans/modules/autoupdate/snap_community_update_center.properties
/"mypath"/.snap/system/config/Preferences/org/netbeans/modules/autoupdate/snap_update_center.properties
and I made these two folders with full permissions
/"mypath"/giacomo/.snap/auxdata
/"mypath"/giacomo/.snap/snap.jython
