Is terrain correction always necessary?

My area of interest is very flat (approx. 1m/km), and errors in available DEM’s are estimated to be greater than actual variations in slope. Most of the pre-processing workflows I’ve seen include radiometric terrain correction; however, I am wondering if this step should be included for areas with flat terrain, or if it would introduce more error.

Thanks for your support!

Hi, No - in your case it does not make much sense to applied a terrain correction as the impact of this will be small even if you have a perfect DEM.
