Dear SNAP Support Team, just to be sure, I would like to ask you about the Java version for using SNAP. It is still 1.8?
Did you tested with more recent JDK?
There is any plan on this?

Hi Paolo,
yes, it still version 1.8. Some parts of the code run with e.g. Version 10 but others not. There is a plan to upgrade but it does not have a fixed schedule.
If we do so we need to check if everything still works, also we have to update other 3rd party libraries like NetBeans and GeoTools and check also if they still work as expected.
Last time we update GeoTools and NetCDF libraries this was quite some effort.
