How to undo the decision Geo TIFF (GDAL) or Geo TIFF product. The fact is that SNAP Spectral View does not work with GDAL. Once wrongly decided I had to reinstall SNAP again to get the small window again for this decision. Is there another way to undo this decision or/and to get displayed the small window (Multiple Readers Available) again. Many thanks for a quick answer

You have to remove the following lines from the rcp.properties file:

multipleReadersDialog.dontShow=true
open_alternative_reader.GTiffDriverProductReaderPlugIn=GDAL-GTiff-READER

The file location is:

  • on Windows:
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\SNAP\config\Preferences\org\esa\snap\snap\rcp.properties
  • on Linux
    /home/<user>/.snap/system/config/Preferences/org/esa/snap/snap/rcp.properties
  • on MacOS
    /Users/<user>/.snap/system/config/Preferences/org/esa/snap/snap/rcp.properties

Dear Diana,
I am running on Windows 10 home and the only files regarding snap are in .snap and there I cannot find any appdata. Elsewhere I cannot find any “snap”.
Many thanks for helping. I will have a lecture and exercise on Monday and fear that a participant could fall in this trap (I hope that in that location they will provide newest desktops…). Still my problem remains.

The AppData folder is hidden. You can display hidden files and folders by checking the “Hidden items” option in Windows Explorer:

Got it. And found the 2 lines to delete. And afterwards restart snap and the small windows appears again.
