Processing of Sentinel-1A data with PolSARpro

As with any SAR sensor, the processing software chain can be rather difficult and is very much sensor specific.

I’m a big fan of PolSARpro. Currently ESA is on version 4.2. I have submitted a ticket to see about getting PolSARpro 5.0 released (which has been mentioned in numerous online documents) and whether it supports the Sentinel-1A mission.

I’ll update when I get an answer for this. But anyone else have any leads on PolSARpro 5.0?

Sentinel-1 is widely supported in PolSARpro v6.0 (Biomass Edition): https://step.esa.int/main/download/polsarpro-v6-0-biomass-edition-toolbox-download/

Also, version 5.0 was already released some time ago, but officially continued by the Biomass Edition.

BTW, if I am not mistaken PolSARpro uses SNAP+s1tbx to process Sentinel-1 data…

Actually, only for the geocoding. The rest are in-built functions.

issue got solved

sorry, I still don’t get what you mean by this. PolSARpro 6 is already out and contains support for Sentinel-1. I think PolSARpro 5 will no longer be released separately.

Like Andreas is asking you need to explain yourself better. PolSARpro is developed under contract with ESA by the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of Rennes (IETR) of the University of Rennes 1. The current version is 6.0 (BIOMASS Edition), announce here and available here.

Any old reference to a version 5.x or 4.x that you may still find on the internet are not applicable anymore.
