I have some scatterometer wind data. I just wanted to know what metadata can be used to make it compatible to snap so that wind barb and wind vector displays can be plotted using snap?

That’s hard to tell. SNAP can open generic formats like NetCDF and GeoTiff or even CSV files.
So, if you can convert the data into one of these formats SNAP will read them.
What is the current format of the data?
