SEN-ET PLUGIN tutorial

Hello, is there any tutorial about the SEN-ET (evapotranspiration using S-2 , S-3 satellites) plugin?
The plugin has been installed into the “Thematic Land Processing” menu.
What are the steps that I should follow?

Thanks
I. Faraslis

Hello,
May I ask from where you took the plugin?
This is not a plugin developed by SNAP team (therefore you won’t find documentation about it on http://step.esa.int
Maybe @radosuav can help you with some documentation? (if I remember well, he was working on this plugin).
Best regards,
Oana

Thanks for your reply.
There is a project in progress called “Sentinels for Evapotranspiration - SEN-et”
This is the link where I found the plugin

Best regards
Ioannis

hii iam syam ,
when i go to download sentinel-2 data by using SEN-ET plugin, its showing error in download directory after showing scenes in execution window. i attach screen shot picture of my error and iam not able to download.
can any please help in this.

Hi, I think it’s better to download the S2 & S3 data directrly from the “Copernicus open access Hub”
https://scihub.copernicus.eu/dhus/#/home
Regards

yes i done like that only

thanks&regards
syam

The plugin uses Sentinelsat python library to download data from the Copernicus open access hub. So it should be exactly the same data that you would get by downloading manually. The only difference is that it’s retrieved from https://scihub.copernicus.eu/apihub instead of https://scihub.copernicus.eu/dhus. Maybe apihub was down when you were trying to download?

How to create a NetCDF file for ECMWF ERA5 analysis. Pls help.

i am syam
I am working on SENET plugin for ET estimation.in that i struck at ECMWF ERA5 reanalysis data download and processing steps. I am not able to create netcdf file for different dates for supporting to download meteorological data. so any one please help me out from this problem. please share any source or any previous netcdf file (with variables) which will work. it will great help for my research.

thanks,

So I generated some results using SENET Plugin in SNAP, by following the SENET tutorial.
I would now like to calculate evapotranspiration, for temporal data of a whole season.
My question is; Is there any tutorial available to do so?
If not kindly guide me to use SENET for temporal data analysis

same ive been looking for a guide or tutorial to help me get the ET but its not working. I need to prepare ERA5 data and estimate the land surface energy fluxes and each of those have too many inputs too which makes it even harder. I am now stuck in the beginning were i need to do pre-
processing but I am getting this error. I cant even edit the info in bandmaths_mask and no source bands are showing in the subset parts (found in the pic below). I’m using this preprocessing xml file sentinel_2_pre_processing.xml (6.3 KB)
If you have a better one pls share.

Can someone please provide help.

yea same problem unfortunately. Please check my comment down below

same question. im using this guide (page 38) http://step.esa.int/docs/tutorials/Technical%20Review%20of%20USER%20MANUAL%20FOR%20SEN_ALL_S2_S3_05032022_final.pdf but still it wont work.

@abeddoughan I had the same problem. My solution was to split the graph sentinel_2_pre_procesing.xml into four parts. So I found a problem with BandMaths_Mask. For that I built my own graph according to the same example.
I hope it helps you.

i tried to do that (build it bit by bit on my own) but it did not work unfortunately. Any other tips/ideas? Ill try to do it again.

Have you achieved results for each one? I got my results for each graph, not for a single complete graph.

I’ve just prepared READY RECKONER material: detailed video tutorial on Sen-ET Plugin based Daily ET estimation as well as an elaborate article on the the same titled ‘Estimating Actual Evotranspiration using Remote Sensing’ which has more emphasis on the concept of ET. Please find material below:

Hello Sir,
Thanks for the video and article as they are great.
I am estimating the leaf reflectance and transmittance however i am receiving an error (check the execution output box) that i know nothing about (i have been following the exact steps in your video)
It says " ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘jpyutil’ "

Please advise and help

Hi, I have not encountered this error before. But I suspect it is an issue with a) the script files - Have you downloaded the latest ones? or b) Have you setup Python with SNAP correctly?

You may connect with Jessey Dickson on here or on LinkedIn who can help you out if in case the above two doesn’t work for you after re-checking.
