Sentinel-1 data gaps

Hi all, I’m currently collecting Sentinel-1 data over Sudan and I notice that there are some data gaps in specific areas. I leave a geojson file for an area I’m trying to download, using https://browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu/ you can notice that for that area no data is available between 01/09/2024 and 28/02/2025.

As you can see from the following image the Sentinel-1 passes are not stored completely. Is this behavior expected from Sentinel-1 and is there another source where all data is available?

Thanks in advance!

Looks like that data was not acquired.

Since July 2022 there has been less coverage than previously because Sentinel-1B failed, so there was only one satellite collecting data rather than two.

Here’s a relevant article: Sentinel-1- Observation Scenario - Planned Acquisitions - ESA - Sentinel Online

The acquisition plans confirm that they were not planning to collect data for this area during that time: Acquisition segment archive - Sentinel-1 - Sentinel Online - Sentinel Online

Sentinel-1C has just been launched and will help get the coverage back up to normal.
