Sentinel 1 Naming Convention

I’ve never noticed this before. There are two product identifiers for the same S-1 image. Why is this?

Probably, it is related to the timeliness of the products.
There is a related question to this in the Copernicus Forum. Unfortunately, there is no answer to it.

Thanks - yes it looks like it could be to do with processing at different ground stations

Sama acquisition processed twice most probably.

This is not related to the “timeliness” of the processing.
The timeliness can be checked on the product information from CDSE interface.
For both it is NRT-3h

This is not related to the processing in different ground station. The products are not processed in the ground station, but by production services elsewhere.

Comparing the content of the manifest, we can see that they were generated on the same day around 4h apart with the same version of processor.

The only difference is that the most recent one (with CRC 059D as suffix) was processed using a Restituded Orbit (RESORB) while the other was using a Preliminary Orbit (PREORB). However the two types of orbit files have similar performances.

Then at the end one can consider that this is just the same product processed twice (whatever the reason) with similar configuration and similar quality.
