Sentinel 2 Pre-Processing Input Image Source

Hello,

I was trying to see if it is possible to use S2 images downloaded from the USGS/EarthExplorer as an input for Sentinel 2 Pre-Processing. I have used the same dated images downloaded from SciHub and EarthExplorer. But I encountered BandMask error when I used S2 image downloaded from EarthExplorer. Is there a certain reason for this error or any advice for using images downloaded from EarthExplorer? Or it is not adviced to used images from EarthExplorer?
