SNAP/ Ubuntu 16.04 Mate

Hello all,
We are trying to use SNAP 3.0 on a Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
it works fine on the unity Desktop environnement nevertheless, we had to install Mate Desktop environnement in order to get access to our virtual Machine (RDP sessions doesnt seem to work with unity), and we cannot launch SNAP from there, it starts, loads its modules and then stops.

Any idea regarding why it would not work on a Mate env?

Can you please post the messages.log.
You will find in <USER_DIR>/.snap/var/log.
