Terrain Correction of different SAR data

Hi all,
I am using sentinel 1 and ALOS 2 data for estimate forest biomass. based on SNAP tutorial for terrain correction analyze, in the case of sentinel, I should select Range Doppler terrain correction and SAR Simulation terrain correction for ALOS 2.
Can anybody tell me the difference between 2 method. Which method should I choose for each? Which option is the best for any SAR data? Do we have to choose a particular method for any data type?

If the accuracy of the orbits is very high, like they are for Sentinel-1, one should use RD terrain correction. For older mission with inaccurate orbits SAR simulation works better.
