as it is stated in the message, you should download and install JRE: https://java.com/en/download/

This download didn’t prevent the ‘Could not fid a Java™ Runtime Environment on your system’ warning popping up for OWASP ZAP 2.9. Is there a fix for this?

Actually the installer comes with a JRE included. Maybe the installer is not allowed to unpack it. Maybe the system settings prevent this.

Hello,

Just to clarify this was my mistake. I was confused because I was trying to search in windows explorer for “java.exe” which the wizard installer tells you to search for. However, in the Bin folder for Java in my Program folders was a “Java” file which was an exe file but just without the visible extension. I selected this and the install completed successfully.

Hope this is useful for other dunces like me!
