You should contact Matlab Support. I expect this question will arise for many Matlab users who don’t use SNAP. More people benefit when questions are posted where the largest user community will see them. Also Matlab may be aware of issues related to WSL that are not yet known to the SNAP community, so you may want to post a summary of your solution here.
I agree with @gnwiii that this rather sounds like a configuration error. Please note that StaMPS is not an official add-on for SNAP, so we cannot provide official support in this regard, especially when you chose Windows over Linux.
