Virtual bands dB

Hi,

As part of pre-processing Sentinel-1A images, I have converted the VH and VV bands into dB and the symbol is shown as a virtual band. Can this present a problem or is it ok to use the virtual dB bands in my classification?

hi,
You can use virtual bands within SNAP.
In case you want to export your image and use it in a different software (and you want to keep the virtual bands for further processing), then you should convert the virtual bands into real bands.

Double click on the virtual band -> Convert band.

I may add that you have to select File > Save Product after conversion in order to permanently store the raster.

But for intermediate products it is totally fine to leave the bands virtual.
