Geometric terrain correction uses a DEM to correct the displacement of pixels because of the incidence angle of the imaging system. Foreshortening, shadow and layover.

Radiometric terrain correction uses a DEM to correct the backscatter intensity of pixels which are distorted by the local incidence angle.
