Wrong Topographic Phase estimation along Range direction

Dear all,
I’m a new user of the s1tbx tool. Actually I’m using version 1.1.1 for creating a differential interferogram from two IWS acquisitions over Mexico City:
S1A_IW_SLC__1SSV_20150122T003952_20150122T004020_004277_005340_26CC
S1A_IW_SLC__1SSV_20150203T003955_20150203T004020_004452_005742_00EF

I’m closely following the steps listed in the tutorial available at:
http://sentinel1.s3.amazonaws.com/docs/S1TBX%20TOPSAR%20Interferometry%20with%20Sentinel-1%20Tutorial.pdf

After subtracting flat-earth phase (before and after deburst), no phase fringes are visible over flat areas.
However, they clearly appear along slant range direction (not azimuth!) after the last step, the topographic phase removal, over all the swath.
Has anybody experienced such a problem before?

The orbits are all precise; we used the SRTM DEM.
Thanks in advance for any your suggestion
Best regards
