iCor Sentinel-3 strange black and white output

Hi,
I’m getting some really weird results with iCor at the moment. It might be because it is not correctly installed, but I’m not sure how to fix that. This time it happened with Sentinel-3 but I’ve had the same problem with a Landsat-8 image.

All Output bands are identical and look exactly like this, so just black and white, no grey:

What I mean by not correctly installed is that it says “tool executable not found” in the external tools manager. I reinstalled and followed the instructions and still have that issue. I found some other topics here where people had the same issue but didn’t find any solutions. iCor worked for me before I updated SNAP to version 9 a few months ago.

EDIT:

I reran iCor with the same image to get the execution output and got a brand new error when I try to open the bands:

Here is also the execution output. It’s a strange mix of backward and forward slashes, but there are no errors so I’m not sure that’s the issue? Sorry for the font I can’t seem to change it.

This can happen if the “missing data” value is not being used. Check values for a few pixels. Typically, the white areas have reasonable data values and black areas are a large negative missing value code like -9999. You may need to enter a valid pixel expression in the band properties.

Please remember that others who encounter similar problems will find your post. For this reason you should careully follow the FAQ instructions. In particular, please include details of your OS and SNAP versions and whether all SNAP updates have been applied.

Thank you so much! That was the solution!

I don’t think I can edit my post anymore but I’m using Windows 10 and SNAP 9.0.0.

Hi,
How do I enter valid pixel expression and process the data?
Where to edit it?
please let me know

See: Mouse Buttons

Using the SNAP 9 GUI, the “action” mouse button on the mouse displays a band image from in the “File Manager List”. Then you can use the “menu” mouse button to click on the name of the band being displayed to get a menu with “Properties” at the bottom. Then use the “action” mouse button to get a Properties window. You should see an entry called “Valid Pixel Expression”. There is a “Help” box that will explain how to generate your own expression.
