Segmentation Fault (core dumped) error during mt_prep_snap

Is it correct/ok/recommended to install gcc-7, g+±7 in a newer ubuntu version, like 24.04?

There are some suggestion to modify the old .c files to be compatible with newer compilers. either you follow that, or you better install older installers as suggested in the forum

Well this helps!!! Thank You… However, in 2025 GCC v7 is depreciated (on ubuntu v22)… I had to manually install it … Anyone who’s facing the same problem should go for this solution…

I am facing the same issue. Segmentation fault and error opening file pscandas.1.ij I am using linux version 24.04. which version did you use to resolve this error?

Suggest you use WSL Ubuntu 20 or 22

Hi wharf,
Thanks for the response. Now i installed ubuntu 20.04. while installing staMPS i am facing issue followed the steps inside the staMPS manual. Also replaced int to void in calam.c, sells_patch and selsbs_patch.
after following the steps it shows command not found.
