this is a known issue. Probably you have an invalid link on your desktop.

SNAP doesn’t use the registry. I assume that you have somewhere a link (maybe on the desktop) which is named IITB_Soft and this links to some software on your external hard drive. This is an issue in Java. There are several similar problems reported. https://bugs.java.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=JDK-8213583 Eventhough it is said that it is fixed for version 8u202 (which we use with SNAP 7), there might be some other issues open which cause the problem.

it is not related to SNAP alone, but caused by shortcuts which point to a location or file which is no longer there. For example on your Desktop, in your user folder or the start menu. This error is also reported for other programs, such as MS word, for example, so the only reported solution is that you search and delete (or update) this shortcut which is causing it: Start serching in the standard directory which SNAP would suggest to write new results into. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-…
